FODE in alliance with GIE carried out this project. FODE’s scope was 40% of the total. The scope of work included 12 new pipelines totalling approx 352 miles (562km) in length.
The pipelines transport bulk flow within various fields (Okan, Sonam, and Funiwa), condensate to the Escravos Gas Plant, and gas to Brass LNG Plant.
All pipelines were designed to be piggable.
FODE Scope included the following:
Engineering and Management of third party to conduct geophysical and geotechnical surveys/hazards identification.
Physical inspection of platforms to markup as-built drawings and pick appropriate location for new risers
Detailed design of J-Tubes & Risers and riser clamps
Detailed design and specification of pipeline crossing
Survey of local facilities such as Fabrication Yards, General Local Contractors, Logistics and Transportation brokers as well as Storage Facilities.
Shell Nigeria
Pipeline End Facilities
In August 2001, Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria awarded the contract for the Conceptual Design for Obigbo to IA gas supply end facilities. The initial scope of work was to carry out conceptual design studies on two previously identified options in order to make final selection of the best process to transfer gas from Obigbo Field sales gas manifold to the IA at Port Harcourt
OPTION 1 - flowing associated gas from Obigbo Manifold without further treatment and knocking out the associated fluids on arrival at the IA end prior to fuel gas sales, and installing distribution facilities at IA to supply the various customers (base case)
OPTION 2 - carry out hydrocarbon dewpointing at Obigbo sales gas manifold and operating the pipeline to IA dry
The concept selected was to operate the pipeline as a wet gas line with treatment at IA. Fode carried out the detailed engineering and design for the selected end facilities concept on a fast track basis.
Shell Nigeria
Southern Swamp Onshore Associated Gas Gathering
The project will gather some 120 - 200MMscf/d of associated gas from 4 existing flowstations (Tunu, Opukushi, Ogbotobo and Benisede) and some new developments as Seibou, Angalalei and Odon, in the South Forcados Area of Southern Swamp operational area of SHELL’s Western Division. This area is located some 65km South-East of Warri in the Niger-Delta area of Nigeria.
The gas will be dehydrated and compressed at a new CPF (located at Tunu) for exported via an offshore pipeline system to feed the 3rd train of Nigerian LNG plant located in Bonny.
